Classic TV series from 1965, Lost In Space, is not new to rebooting. In 1998 they turned it into a movie starring Matt LeBlanc and Gary Oldman, which, we can all agree, was a bit of a step backward.
Inspired by the The Swiss Family Robinson, Lost in Space followed the adventure of Dr John Robinson, his family, a robot and the villain Dr Zachary Smith, as they are trapped on a spaceship, heading for the unknown recess of space.
All we know at this time is that the series will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who wrote last year’s Dracula Untold, will likely be directed by Newcastle-born Neil Marshall (who was involved in episodes of Hannibal and the Blackwater episode of Game of Thrones). No cast has been announced yet.
It will be interesting to see who gets to do the score, originally composed by John Williams (Star Wars, Superman and Jaws).
