Can you feel it yet?

Set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, we have a new instalment to continue the saga. With J.J. Abrams at the helm and Lawrence Kasdan’s screenplay, what can possibly go wrong? Incidentally, Abrams is now the first director to direct a Star Trek film and a Star Wars film. Hamil, Ford and Fisher (now officially the oldest Disney princess) will be there too, introducing once again Luke, Han and Leia to the latest generations.

The movie will focus on the building of the New Republic after the fall of the Empire, with the children of Luke, Leia and Han as the main characters of the story.

This time the production has opted for real locations and miniature models, rather than an overload of green-screen and CGI, to make the film aesthetically comparable to the original trilogy.

The movie is currently in post-production, with release expected for the 18th of December 2015.

And so Disney is entrusted to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. And aren’t we curious to see the results…
