Due to have released back on May 11th the 2.7 update for Genshin Impact has been delayed with no new date currently given. While the only official reason stated by Hoyoverse is due to “Project Progress” it is widely assumed that Covid 19 lockdowns are to blame and are preventing the voice capture process for the new storyline content. However, players shouldn’t be too downhearted at the delays, as starting back on 11th May, 400 Primogems, 120000 Mora, a Fragile Resin, 7 Heroes Writs and 16 Mystic Enhancement Ore will be given in compensation every week until the 2.7 update releases. To be eligible, players need to have reached Adventures Rank 5 or above by 11th May. This means that new players after 11th May are unlikely to get any of the weekly compensation rewards even if they hit adventure rank 5 prior to the 2.7 update release.
Players who are eligible for the rewards must claim them before the 2.7 update is released and each reward is only available for a maximum of 30 days from the date of issue, so if the update does not go live by 10 June then the weekly rewards will start to time out. Players are advised not to wait too long to claim those rewards.
For those of you who have not played Genshin Impact, it is a free to play action adventure game available for PlayStation 4, Android, PlayStation 5, iOS and Microsoft Windows. While the game is perfectly playable without investing any money, I would advise any players prone to whaling out on free to play games to proceed with caution and to set a spend budget if you plan to play, which I would advise for all free to play games with in game transactions.
