Halloween is here and the ghosts and ghouls have taken to the streets, and not all of them are people in costume. Yes, despite pessimism online, the rumours of a Pokémon Go Halloween have proven true, and I think it’s safe to say that the event has been well received. All of a sudden, pokestops are back in action with lures placed and the community has come alive again.
What has caused this rejuvenation you might ask? Well double candy for catching, transferring and hatching pokemon and a massive four times for buddy candy was certainly a defining factor. Add to this vastly increased spawn rates for ghost and other Halloween flavoured Pokémon, and there are a lot of happy players right now.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and the event will finished on the 1st November so if you want to fill your sack with candy you better get in quick. However, this has raised anticipation for further events such as Christmas and Easter. What will we have come Christmas? Increased frost pokemon spawn rates and improved items from pokestops and will Easter come with reduced hatching times? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
I wish you all a terrifying and candy laden Halloween. Happy trick or treating.
