Today, voting opens on the shortlists of the David Gemmell Awards for Fantasy, 2015.
The awards were created to honour Gemmell’s life and work in Fantasy literature, with the first one being awarded in 2009.
There are 3 awards:
The Legend Award This is named after David Gemmell’s first and most popular novel and is presented to the best fantasy title of the year.
The Morningstar Award The Morningstar Award (named after David Gemmell’s bestselling novels), is presented to the best début novel in fantasy fiction.
The Ravenheart Award The Ravenheart Award, named for one of David Gemmell’s novels, is given to the best fantasy book cover art.
For those of you unfamiliar with the voting system, a longlist of titles is compiled and submitted by the publishers (although the public can also make suggestions). The longlist is voted on by the public, creating a shortlist. This voting is now closed, but now it’s time to vote on the shortlist.
The presentation will take place at 8pm on Saturday 8th August at Nine Worlds and of course, The SFFN will be there to cover it for you.
Stay tuned and start voting!
