We met Simon J Williamson at Edinburgh Comic Con. Simon is a versatile actor and puppeteer who has worked with some of the most innovative directors in the industry, including George Lucas, Jim Henson and Frank Oz.
Most people will know him for his contribution to Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), in which he had several roles. In particular he portrayed Max Rebo, an alien musician resembling a blue elephant and the Gamorrean guard who ended up in the pit with Luke Skywalker and eaten by the Rancor beast. He also puppeteered Mon-Calamari and was on of the three-man team who were puppeteers for Nien Numb, co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon with Lando Calrissian in the final battle.
