Sci-Fi Ball 22: 5 – 7 FEBRUARY 2016 – Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton
The UK’s longest running not-for-profit science fiction convention, The Sci-Fi Ball, celebrates its 22nd year at the stunning Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton from 5 – 7 February 2016. The socially-orientated fan-run convention boasts an impressive fun-filled three-day itinerary of unique events for the whole family to enjoy with a star-studded line-up of science fiction and fantasy stars, determined to fulfill their on-going mission to raise much-needed funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Special guests include Vaughn Armstrong (Admiral Maxwell Forrest in Star Trek: Enterprise), Annette Badland (Doctor Who, Wizards Vs. Aliens, EastEnders), Sabrina Bartlett (Maid Marian in Doctor Who, Sophia in Davinci’s Demons, Game of Thrones), Casey Biggs (Cardassian Damar in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Dominic Keating (Lt. Malcolm Reed in Star Trek: Enterprise, Heroes, Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Connor Trinneer (Charles “Trip” Tucker III in Star Trek: Enterprise, Stargate: Atlantis) and James Moran (TV writer whose credits include Doctor Who and Cockneys versus Zombies) plus author Robert Rankin and illustrator Lee Bradley.
Casey Biggs who will be attending the entire weekend as well as performing as part of a special Star Trek cabaret, comments,

Sabrina Bartlett who begins filming the latest season of Game Of Thrones comments,
“I am absolutely delighted to be involved with the SF Ball this year. The Teenage Cancer Trust is a vital organisation and I am so looking forward to meeting everyone and having a fantastic weekend!”
Every day of the convention includes Q&A’s, professional photography/autograph sessions with the stars, activities, challenges and art/fiction competitions, an emporium of cult collectables and merchandise, a special table-top gaming room, an exhibition hall including roaming full size Daleks, life-size recreations of the Enterprise D Bridge and transporter platform, original costumes from the Star Trek franchise, models and model-making displays and special events from The Victorian Steampunk Society, including the opportunity to take part in tea-duelling!
Friday highlights include: The Con Dance Workshop to teach your two left feet the correct routines to enjoy all the convention dances; an epic pub quiz full of geeky questions both verbal and picturesque, A Gold Ticket Cocktail Party, including a hot buffet and a generous glass of bubbly welcoming gold ticket members offering up close and personal meetings with the guests, a goody bag full of film promotional merchandise and epic three-foot chocolate fountains, plus state of the art interactive gameshows, including Who Wants To Be A Starship Captain?, Geeking for Gold and a Whose Who? game. Friday concludes with an epic party with the theme of Children’s Books and a prize for the best fancy dress/cosplay costume will be awarded.
Saturday highlights include: a full, three-course black-tie/fancy dress dinner with live cabaret, a ‘money-can’t buy’ raffle, including incredibly unique prizes and a Gotham City-themed party with fancy dress/cosplay competitions, a cabaret provided by the Enterprise Blues Band (a unique cabaret performed by actual actors from Star Trek) and a late night disco with games that all can enjoy.
Sunday’s highlights include: a musicals themed late night disco and Karaoke evening and another opportunity to play one of SFB’s impressive interactive audio-visual games, Universally Challenged.
