Observant fans have noticed a recurring element in all the recent Star Wars series. From The Mandalorian to The Bad Batch, from The Clone Wars to Rebels, wherever the same creators are involved, familiar characters keep popping up.
And let me state it bluntly: everything involving Dave Filoni and his team seem to be only excuses to continue telling stories about original characters from the previous works. Recently it was the cameo of Hera Syndulla, originally a main character in Rebels, in the Ryloth arc of The Bad Batch. But before her in the same series, there was Fennec Shand who originally appeared in The Mandalorian, and Captain Rex from The Clone Wars. Just like The Mandalorian had the cameos of Ahsoka Tano or Bo-Katan Kryze. And just like Rebels featured Captain Rex or Maul… or also Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze.
The point is, in each show, we can trace several visiting characters back to a previous show. It is a given. Which means that we can also apply this in the opposite direction: into the future.

Coming: The Book of Boba Fett
The Book of Boba Fett is a show coming in December 2021 of which very little is known otherwise. We can only tell that it is going to be centered on Boba Fett (d’uh!) and that it will involve Fennec Shand.
So who are the characters we can expect to make a cameo?
Well, the first logical step is to look at people who have a connection to both Boba and Fennec. And who is the one such person? It is the other unmodified clone of Jango Fett, Boba Fett’s “sister” Omega, who has met Fennec at least once a long time ago.
Just for the benefit of those who have not watched The Bad Batch: it is revealed there that aside from the thousands of clones for the Republic and the one unmodified clone that Jango Fett demanded as payment for his services, the cloners on Kamino have kept another unmodified clone. We learn that Boba was, during his creation, codenamed “Alpha” and this clone is called “Omega”. Part of The Bad Batch series revolves around the fact that Omega is valuable for the cloners as the currently only available source of Jango’s original genetic material (aside from Boba whose whereabouts are unknown at the time).
So why should Omega reappear in The Book of Boba Fett?
Why Would It Be Omega?
Firstly, as of now, we do not know what the series is going to be about. It could be about Boba bounty hunting, running around in the desert in circles and drinking with Fennec Shand. That might be entertaining for a couple of episodes at most. There needs to be some more specific plot. And searching for, or reuniting with your biological sister whom you may or even may not have known about is enough material for a lot of drama.
Secondly, Fennec Shand has met Omega when she was young. If Boba has not learned about Omega up to now, now that they became partners, he could learn it from Shand.
Thirdly, the theme of reuniting with a family you did not know about is as Star Wars as you can get. “So… you have a twin sister.” No need to say more.
Plus, as (so far) we have no idea what Omega has been to during the Rebellion times, the writers would have a completely free hand.

…But Who Is Going To Play Her?
There are only two possible obstacles on the way:
First, The Bad Batch series is still ongoing and we do not know what is going to happen to Omega. I however find it unlikely that she would for example die in the show’s last episode. It is much more likely that the series will be open-ended – leaving perfect opportunity for The Book of Boba Fett to conclude Omega’s story. (Just like other live-action series are being used to for example conclude the story of Ahsoka Tano. The Mandalorian was used to familiarise the audience with her, her own series will finish it.)
Second and more important problem to solve is that if Omega actually makes an appearance in live-action, she will have to be played by some actor or actress. In The Bad Batch, she is voiced by Michelle Ang, who provides a wonderful New Zealander accent. Could she play Omega also “live”? In The Mandalorian, Disney opted for casting a different actress for Ahsoka Tano, one who looked the part more than the original voice actress.
In the show, Omega has blonde hair (she was modelled after Temuera Morrison’s sister Taini who had such natural haircolour). This difference might already sufficiently distract from other potential minor differences in appearance. It may be possible to cast whomever who looks vaguely passable; Omega may have, after all, styled herself throughout the years in a way that does not particularly resemble Boba on first sight. Another possible, however tricky option would be to cast Temuera Morrison (with a blond wig?) as Omega and let Michelle Ang voice her. Perhaps too much? In any case, there are options.
It’s All Too Convenient
Is Omega going to show up in The Book of Boba Fett? Perhaps, perhaps not. However, it is just all too suspicious that on the same year when we are expecting a stand-alone show about Boba Fett, we learn that he had a “sister”.
Coincidence? I don’t think so. But only the future will tell.
