Many fans were eagerly waiting for Fallout to go multiplayer but does it live up to hype? Well many fans and critics have responded to the title’s release with disappointment, reporting that the game plays like a shell of the franchise’s single player titles with no NPCs and a real lack of storyline for players to sink their teeth into. Players even back in the beta were warning of the dry feeling of the world with no NPCs to interact with and many now also report boring and repetitive quests and a large map, strangely devoid of the multiple players that are supposed to co-habit it.

However, while the title has got off to a wobbly start, Bethesda have already announced they are working on many new features, C.A.M.P. building improvements, new quests and events, new Vaults opening, character respecing and a faction-based PvP system. It may just be that with continued support and development that this diamond in the rough may just eventually manage to live up to the original hype.

I, personally, won’t be investing in it as it is, but it’s important to say that while there has been a lot of negative criticism of the title that there are also those who are already having fun, building bases together and adventuring. If you have a few friends who are interested in playing then the difficulty of finding random players in game would no longer prove an issue, and there might just be some fun to be had. Feel free to take a look at the trailer above and make your own choice as to if it is worth a purchase.
