The autumn season is rich in Star Wars gaming news. Last week witnessed the release of Star Wars: Squadrons, the long-awaited starfighter simulator. But even older existing games are not staying behind. Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO is not only honouring the release of Squadrons by giving the players a Squadrons-themed minipet but also launching a new in-game event at the end of October, the Feast of Prosperity.
The Feast of Prosperity will be a three-week-long event, running from 20th October until 10th November 2020. It will be open to all players of level 20 and higher. The event is inspired by the other two existing seasonal events, the Life Day and the Nar Shaddaa casino event. These are held annually during winter holidays and the beginning of summer, respectively. The Feast of Prosperity seems to be thematically corresponding to Thanksgiving and similar autumn festivals.
Weekly Unfolding Story
Unlike its predecessors, however, Feast of Prosperity comes with its own background story. With the Hutt Cartel’s reputation suffering some hard blows in the recent past, two ambitious Hutts have decided to rectify this by arranging a charitable banquet for the Galaxy’s underprivileged. Every week, a new Story Mission will be unlocked to progress the storyline, alongside many repeatable daily and weekly missions and mini-games.
Otherwise, we can expect similar things to what we are used to: thematic challenges and rewards, including Feast-themed outfits, mounts, decorations, emotes, toys and pets (including “Hairless Mudhorn” – yes, the thing from the Mandalorian).
The story itself should revolve around Gaboorga the Abundant and Duuba the Magnanimous. The two Hutts are both attempting to raise their reputation and gain profit from the event. Unfortunately, their conflicting priorities lead them to constantly undermine each other. In the third and final week, the players will have to choose which of the Hutts they ultimately side with, determining the fate of the Feast.

While Waiting For The Mandalorian
Overall, the Feast of Prosperity seems like an entertaining addition to the array of SWTOR events. It is good to see that despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the developers continue to provide new content for the game, even if it is more on the “pure entertainment” side. After the recent addition of Swoop Rally event, it seems like the devs got a hang of making variable and interesting events.
The advantage of Feast of Prosperity is that it will run alongside other in-game events (such as the Rakghoul Resurgence on Tatooine starting on the week of 20th October). Therefore, those who, for one reason or another, do not fancy either of the events, will get the chance to play the way they like.
The Feast of Prosperity will run between 20.10.-10.11.2020 and players who log in between these dates are also going to get their Squadrons-themed Vanguard minipet for free. Alongside Squadrons, this will provide the Star Wars fans with more casual entertainment while waiting for the second season of The Mandalorian.
