Set in the magnificent setting of Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire, the Great North Art Show is running from the 2nd-24th of September.

It is an exciting and diverse open exhibition of contemporary art by professional northern artists.

Artist John Cockshaw will be showcasing paintings inspired by Susanna Clarke’s novel ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell‘. the pieces are dark and occasionally ghoulish, but quite suited to the ancient setting.
