In October 2013, the Mark Gordon Company and the C.S. Lewis Estate announced the development of The Silver Chair.
Last month, Mr Gordon announced that he was leaving ABC after a great run, to join indie eOne.
“We are becoming a studio as opposed to being just producers,” he said. “In order to realise the true value of our content, retention of rights ownership and control of international distribution are a must. In eOne we have found partners that share our vision of supporting the creators and are immersed in the international marketplace with great ambitions to expand in the U.S. Together, we are building an alternative to the traditional studio way.”
For Narnia fans the wait is still long: no director and no release date, although 2016 is likely to be the year. Oscar pluri-nominee David Magee, will be in charge of writing the screenplay adaptation.
