There were a few rumors and a big amount of mystery about the well guarded Star Wars set. But not that long ago there was a shooting, which revealed some locations and faces. The photographer Annie Leibovitz travelled to the famous Pinewood Studios in London to shoot some characters out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Annie Leibovitz was born 1949 as the third child of a Jewish family in Waterbury, Connecticut. in 1967 she began her studies of art and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute, to become a teacher of arts. Based on a recommendation of her friend, she presented her photo portfolio to the Art Director of the Rolling Stone magazine in 1970. The publisher Jann Wenner was so intrigued by her work that he hired her directly. She completed her bachelor of Fine Arts in 1971 and worked ten years for the Rolling Stones magazine. In 1978 after the the Rolling Stone editorial department moved to New York, Fifth Avenue, influential graphic designer and artistic director Bea Feitler became her mentor. Under her influence Annie continued to develop her photographic style. She got involved in the founding of the US magazine Vanity Fair in 1981 and she left the Rolling Stone in 1983 to take her place as Head of Photography at the Vanity Fair magazine. Generally, before starting a shooting, Annie plans the whole concept. This is done in simple ideas and compositions which she discusses with the participants. She worked with stars like: John Lennon, Bette Midler, Demi More, The Rolling Stones and Whoopi Goldberg.
