It is a time of galactic turmoil. With the première of The Force Awakens rushing closer every minute, it is no surprise that we are being flooded by more commercials and TV spots. This week, an official IMAX poster for the film was also shown featuring Rey and BB-8 – it’s the one you can see at the top of this article.
As for the TV spots, there have been two official ones so far (the shorter one here, and the longer one with more footage you can watch below), but we can expect more every minute. What is not so usual is that those released so far contain new footage unseen in the previous trailers. One is almost wondering whether too much is too much, but it can’t be denied that some of the shots are really stirring up emotions – be it seeing Finn actually using the lightsaber in combat (whether out of necessity or for other reasons is uncertain) or that Han Solo’s showing age hasn’t slowed his finger on the trigger. It is very nice that Leia isn’t missing either and we get a bit more insight into her role (and if your eyes are good enough, you can look for familiar “faces” near the Resistance conference table). I think we can all agree on one thing: the sooner we are sitting in the cinema, the better.
