The PS5 remake of The Last Of Us Part 1 is due to release on September 2nd. So far, the most controversial thing about the title seems to be its price tag, with it set to launch at £69.99 for just the standard edition. With the review embargo being 31st August, as of writing this article, there are no official reviews to confirm if the remake is worth this substantial price tag. The unofficial opinions seem to be that it is not. Let us not forget that this title has already had a remaster for the PS4 which improved the graphics.

According to Naughty Dog, the price tag is due to this version being a ground up remake using a PS5 engine. They have promised modernised gameplay mechanics, better controls and facial animations and enhanced exploration and combat. It certainly seems a hefty price tag, to me, for a remake. Naughty Dog have said that they remade the game to draw in new players and perhaps for those who have not played the original or remaster, it might prove worth the investment. For anyone who has played a previous version, I would strongly advise waiting until the reviews are out before deciding. Feel free to check out the trailer at the top of the article for more information and a glimpse of the improved graphics.
