Yesterday, at San diego Comic con, MTV debuted a nearly 3 minutes long trailer of “The Shannara Chronicles”. The Series is based on the international best-selling novels of author Terry Brooks. A human and two elves, Eretria (Ivana Baquero), Amberle Elessedil (Poppy Drayton) and Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler) have to face an adventure filled with demons, darkness and magic while an enchanted tree begins to die. Also featured in this show: Manu Bennett, Emilia Burns, Aaron Jakubenko and John Rhys-Davies (Gimli from Lord of the Rings) as Eventine Elessedil.

Sonar Entertainment, the producing partner of MTV, already ordered “The Shannara Chronicles” with Jonathan Liebesman (Wraith of the Titans) directing the first two episodes. As writer and executive producer of the show, which is green lighted for 10 episodes, there will be Al Gough and Miles Millar. Also Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman, Terry Brooks and Dan Farah will serve as executive producers as well.
But now take a look and dwell in a long known fantastic world which takes place in the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand. Between the woods and shores you will find something different from Lord of the Rings, but in a strange way quite familiar. Enjoy!
