For all you Uncharted fans out there, Naughty Dog have announced the release date of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, on the 23rd August 2017(Europe) or August 22nd (US). A new trailer has also been released which can be viewed above. What started as a DLC project is now confirmed for a standalone release and follows Chloe Frazer and her partner Nadine Ross. For any of you hoping to catch a glimpse of Nate in the game then you’ll, unfortunately, be disappointed. The developers have confirmed that he’ll be too busy chilling out playing Crash Bandicoot to make a cameo, and all the action will be left to the new protagonists, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm, as it sounds like the game still has plenty to offer.

The Lost Legacy will feature an all new narrative following Chloe and Nadine as they venture deep into India’s Western Ghats mountain range in search of the fabled Tusk of Ganesh. It promises all new areas to explore and challenges to overcome and, a reported, 12 hours of gameplay, so it seems well worthy of a standalone release and price tag. Chloe was introduced into the franchise in Uncharted 2 and is already popular with the fans, so the next outing in the franchise seems to be in good hands. I personally like Chloe’s character and look forward to seeing her fleshed out more as a main protagonist. I’m sure Nate will be proud of her efforts and more than a little relieved to be chilling at home instead of being shot at, stabbed, blown up, arrested, chased by cursed creatures, escaping ancient traps, and the other one hundred and one life threatening situations he’s found himself in over the years. I think we can all agree that he’s earned some kick back time. Anyway, this certainly looks like a project worth following.
