On the 3rd January 2018 fans from all over the world will raise their glasses (or cups, or mugs, or goblets!) for the Tolkien toast. Italian ones, however, will have an additional reason to celebrate: after more than thirteen years since the last time it was available, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien will be finally published again in a completely new translation by Lorenzo Gammarelli (AIST founding member and essayist). Eventually, also those Italians who cannot read English will be able to enjoy the insight on Tolkienβs personality as a man and a writer that this collection of letters offers.
The volume, published by Bompiani, sports a stylish cover which reminds of its first English edition, with the JRRT monogram devised by Tolkien himself on a dark background. But of course we all know that, as much as the cover is captivating, it is the content that will shine the brightest!
