Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is about to launch its first batch of downloadable content. Publisher Activision announced today that the set is called Sabotage, and will be released for PlayStation 4 on January 31st. The DLC will include a brand new episode for Infinite Warfare’s Zombies mode, set in a cabin in the woods, as well as four shiny new multiplayer maps.
These four maps include Noir, a futuristic version of Brooklyn that’s dark, gritty, and inspired by a night vision of of the city. It’s in a classic noir style, with a Dystopian twist, encompassing a three-lane map populated by parks and cafes encircling what Activision have described as a ‘brutal downtown warzone’.
The second map, Neon, is a unique digitized area designed as a virtual training centre for urban warfare. Activision have described it as a place where ‘cars and other structures spawn out of thin air and enemies dissolve into hundreds of pixels when defeated’. It’s an arena playing about with the usual physical rules that apply to Call of Duty maps, that’s sure to go down a treat with fans.
The third new map, Renaissance, sees players battling it out against each other, surrounded by the stunning architecture and canals of Venice. And finally there is Dominion, a re imagination of the classic Modern Warfare 2 Afgham map, this time on Mars, the action pivoting around a crashed space ship.
But the real action (at least so far as I’m concerned) is taking place in Zombie mode, with Sabotage’s ‘Rave in the Redwoods’. Players are sent to a rave party held at an abandoned camp, to do battle against the walking dead in classic 90’s style. New zombie features with the add-on will include snazzy new weapons, traps, and a brand new character imaginatively named The Slasher.
Sabotage debuts on PS4 in January, and will be available on other platforms later in the year.
