If you think that conventions revolve around the day programme, think again – the nights are just as fun. Of course, for con-goers the evenings can be about catching up with old friends, discussing the events of the day and drinking the bar dry, but there is always something going on, for those who just can’t get enough geekness.

Here is what the organiser of Nine Worlds have set up for us this year:

For the first time, Nine Worlds Geekfest welcomes Knightmare Live! to the stage. Following two critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe runs, the cult show went on a national tour culminating with its West End debut. Now following their successful run at the Udderbelly festival, they’re bringing a special ‘Expansion Pack’ Show to Nine Worlds, on the Friday Night, 7th August, at the Radisson Blu, Heathrow, their final London show for some time. The brand new MMORPG Show combines improvised comedy with table top gaming in an epic, sprawling, open world, entirely made up fantasy quest of the audiences own devising.

Entry for the event is included in the convention ticket price.

Powered by Rock Band 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360, Rock Club London is back by popular demand for its third year, bringing the long running pub event to Nine Worlds on Friday night. With over 1800 songs from the past 60 years and across multiple genres, this is truly Karaoke for the Gaming generation. So whether you’re stepping behind the drums, picking up a guitar controller or preparing to share your vocal stylings, make sure you go to Commonwealth on Friday at 10 pm for a night of music and mayhem by the longest running music game based event in the UK.

Thor and Heimdall have used the Tesseract’s power to rebuild the Bifrost Queer Cabaret on Saturday night. It will be MC’ed by Sally Outen of Lashings of Ginger Beer Time, featuring radical inclusive movement school Irreverent Dance and the vibrant acoustic folk of Playing Rapunzel, with more acts to be announced.

Named for the shimmering, burning rainbow bridge of Norse legend, Bifröst is a night of pop, rock, and fabulosity.

At Nine Worlds early and looking for something to break the ice? A way to mentally prepare yourself for the amazing weekend ahead? The Thursday Night Pub Quiz at 8 pm could be just the ticket: full of conundrums and brain teasers to challenge your mind with prizes on the line.

Or why not pop along to the Cheese Tasting & Reading on Thursday Night? Nine Worlds is a safe place to express your love for anything, therefore you are invited to eat a wide selection of delicious cheese and read out some of your favourite written cheese at the event’s open mic. That means it’s time to re-visit some of your favourite cheese, so pick out a reading – and bring it along to share on Thursday evening. Vegetarian and goat’s milk cheeses and gluten free crackers will be available.
